Two men have been arrested after armed police returned to Trowbridge in search of an outstanding suspect.
This morning officers descended on the Longfields estate of the town at around 9am following a domestic disorder in Somerset.
By midday the drama was over and most officers had left the area. But at this 2.30pm armed officers from both Wiltshire Police and Avon and Somerset Police arrived in Bramley Lane.
Shortly after 4pm armed officers brought two males from the property as placed them into separate police vans.
Wiltshire Police has confirmed a 34-year-old man from the Somerset area and a 38-year-old man from Trowbridge have been arrested on suspicion of undisclosed offences, labelled as “serious”.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Two men have been arrested by specialist firearms officers following a police operation this afternoon (11/04) at an address in Trowbridge.
“The men, one aged 34, from the Avon and Somerset area, and the other, a local man, aged 38, have been arrested on suspicion of serious offences linked to an incident which started in the Avon and Somerset area this morning.
“Both men are currently in custody at Melksham Police HQ.”
