Armed police were deployed in Swindon after a man was spotted with a machete.
Firearms officers raced to reports of two males wearing balaclavas getting out of a car in Faringdon Road at around 6.30pm yesterday evening (27 April).
One of the males appeared to be carrying a large knife or machete as he ran along Park Lane.
The pair were then spotted re-entering the vehicle – which was being driven by another person. A description of the car was passed to police.
A vehicle matching the description was later stopped by armed officers on Whitbourne Avenue, and a small quantity of suspected controlled drugs were uncovered.
No arrests were made, but Wiltshire Police says their investigation is ongoing.
The incident happened less than two hours after two teenagers were arrested following a disorder involving a machete and metal bar in Akers Way.
