A series of raids have been carried out across the borough of Swindon today.
Whilst Wiltshire Police can’t provide any in-depth details at this early stage, the force has confirmed the warrants are part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
Armed police have been seen raiding a number of properties – at least four – throughout the day in central Swindon, Park South, Old Town and Broadgreen.
The specialist teams executed early morning warrants in Bell Vue Road and Westcott Place whilst this afternoon, they’ve smashed down the doors of properties in County Road and Alfred Street. The evening before, officers raided a home in Pakenham Road – linked to this major operation.
A police spokesperson said: “We are currently making enquiries into a series of alleged criminal activities in parts of Swindon.
“We can reassure the general public that this ongoing incident will not affect them or the wider community.
“Specialist officers are still working on the initial stages of this and are at several locations around the town – we would like to reassure the public and local communities that this is all connected to the same investigation.
“As it’s a live investigation, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
