Police attended Wanborough shortly before 2pm today (17 May) to carry out an arrest warrant.

Officers were forced to enter into ‘negotiations’ with the wanted suspect, prompting an armed police response to the property in Underdown Close.

The force says firearms specialists were only called in “as a precaution”.

Numerous police cars, including armed response vehicles and unmarked cars, were spotted parked in Kite Hill and other nearby roads.

Wiltshire Police said that following “some negotiation”, the man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary and remains in custody at this time.
