An air ambulance is at a ‘serious incident’ by a multi-storey car park in Swindon town centre.
Emergency services were called to Farnsby Street at around 7.30pm this evening (Sunday).
A casualty is reportedly being treated at the bottom of the Brunel West Car Park.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance landed in GWR Park on Faringdon Road, with critical care medics rushing to the scene.
Further details have been not been confirmed at this stage — however, there is some speculation that the incident is mental health related.
Wiltshire Police have cordoned off Farnsby Street to both motorists and pedestrians.
In a statement, a force spokesperson said: “We have closed Farnsby Street and set up a cordon near Brunel West Car Park, Swindon, following a serious incident.
“We will provide an update when appropriate.
“Please avoid the area. There is no risk to the wider public.”
UPDATE 8.30PM: The casualty has been airlifted to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. They are thought to be in a serious condition.
