An air ambulance was called to an incident near a hospital earlier today.
Emergency services rushed to help an elderly man after he collapsed in Odstock Road, Salisbury, at around 3.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed in a field nearby – which was approximately 250 metres from Salisbury District Hospital.
Medics treated the casualty, a man aged in his 80s, and conveyed him to the nearby hospital for further urgent care and the air ambulance made its way back to base a short time later.
The road was closed in both directions by police whilst the incident was dealt with, but has since reopened.
