Wiltshire Air Ambulance has been scrambled to a karting arena this afternoon (Saturday).
The helicopter touched down outside M4 Karting at Hullavington Airfield, situated off the A429 between Malmesbury and Chippenham, shortly before 1pm.
The charity’s critical care medics appear to be treating a casualty in the middle of the karting track, which is situated in a former hanger.
The exact nature of the incident is unknown at this time, but there was some suggestion on social media that there had been a “serious accident”.
UPDATE 2.10PM: Wiltshire Air Ambulance left the scene at around 1.40pm, landing at the Royal United Hospital in Bath at shortly after 2pm.
UPDATE 3.30PM: A man in his 60s sustained a broken leg after falling off a small motorbike known as a mini moto.
His injury isn’t thought to be significant, with medics waiting around one hour for an ambulance to transport him to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed at the hospital to collect a critical care paramedic, who is understood to have travelled in the ambulance with the patient.
