UPDATE: Suspect returns to custody after ‘medical episode’ at police station
An air ambulance has been called to a serious incident at Melksham Police Station.
The ambulance service was called to the scene shortly before 3pm this afternoon (Sunday).
Great Western Air Ambulance landed in a field nearby, with critical care medics providing urgent medical treatment to a casualty at the police station.

It’s believed Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance were also in attendance, having responded to the unfolding incident in a rapid response vehicle.
Wiltshire 999s understands that a land ambulance took a person to the Royal United Hospital in Bath, escorted by two police cars.
It’s not known whether the emergency occurred in the custody suite, or if a detainee was involved. Exact details about what happened are unclear at this stage.

Wiltshire Police has been approached for comment.
