A person has died after emergency services were called to a shop in Devizes.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was tasked to the ‘serious incident’ in Boots, The Brittox, at around 12.30pm today following reports of an unresponsive casualty.
At least five police vehicles and two ambulances were also in attendance.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wiltshire Police has confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Boots will remain closed for the rest of today following the distressing incident.
A spokesman said: “We can confirm that a very sad incident happened in our Devizes store this morning.
“Our pharmacy team were on hand to support and provide first aid until the paramedics arrived, and our store will remain closed for the rest of the day. Our thoughts are very much with the patient’s family at this time.
“Our team form close relationships with their patients in the local community, and this incident involved a patient who was a regular and well known among our team members. Our store will reopen tomorrow morning.”
The air ambulance touched down behind the force headquarters in London Road, where it was originally based many years ago before moving to Semington.
