A main road from the M4 has been closed after a lorry collided with a railway bridge.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A429 at around 11.30am this morning, but the driver of the vehicle didn’t suffer any injuries in the crash.

The road is closed between Junction 17 and Corston.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please note that the A429 northbound from junction 17 of the M4 to Malmesbury is currently closed after a lorry hit a railway bridge.

“Thankfully no injuries, but the road will be closed for some time while a safety inspection of the bridge is carried out.”
