A417 has been closed in both directions following a serious road traffic collision.

Emergency services were called to the crash west of Lechlade at around 8am this morning (19 January).

Locals report the collision was ‘head on’ and occurred near the entrance to The Lakes by Yoo luxury homes development.

The road – between Lechlade and Fairford – is likely to remain closed for several hours.

We’ve approached Gloucestershire Police for comment.
