UPDATE: Young girl critically injured as minibus involved in Wiltshire crash

The A345 remains closed this morning (Thursday) following a serious crash.

Emergency services were called to the busy route in Enford, north of Amesbury, at around 4.45pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, 5 June).

Two vehicles were involved, with one person sustaining significant injuries.

The casualty was airlifted to the Major Trauma Centre at Southampton General Hospital by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The road remains closed in both directions for complex forensic collision investigation and vehicle recovery work, but is expected to reopen by midday.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “We are currently in attendance at a two vehicle collision on the A345 at Newtown, Enford, Pewsey.

“We were called to the scene at 4.45pm.

“One person is being taken to Southampton Hospital.

“The road is blocked and therefore we have closures in place south of the collision at B crossing and north of the collision at Enford crossroads.

“Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route whilst the incident is dealt with.”
