UPDATE: A303 crash: Boy, 11, dies and others injured as car veers into parked lorry

The A303 near Stonehenge remains closed following a serious crash.

Emergency crews, including two air ambulances, were called to the scene in Amesbury at around 7.30pm yesterday evening (Saturday 8 July).

Approximately five fire engines, a significant number of ambulance resources and police attended the incident – which is understood to have involved a lorry and a car.

The route remains closed whilst Wiltshire Police carry out a collision investigation, but is expected to reopen by lunchtime today (Sunday).

At the time, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that the A303 between the Countess roundabout and the A360 Longbarrow roundabout is currently closed in both directions following a serious RTC.

“The road is likely to be closed for the foreseeable future. Please find alternate routes.”

A full update on the serious collision ill be provided later today.
