The A303 is closed in both directions this morning following a serious road traffic collision.
All three emergency services are attending the scene between the A345 Countess Roundabout and the A360 (near Stonehenge), and have been since around 10.30pm last night (Tuesday).
The road isn’t expected to reopen until around 3am as collision investigation work is underway.
A spokesperson for Highways England said: “Diversions are in operation, westbound traffic is advised to follow the “Hollow Circle” diversion symbol. Exit the A303 on to the A345 (northbound) then at the island turn left on to The Parkway and proceed through Larkhill then turn left on to the B3086 (southbound). Continue on to the A303 to re-join at the Longbarrow Roundabout.
“Eastbound diversion route is following the Hollow Black Square symbol which is the reverse of the above route via the B3086, The Parkway and A345 south to re-join the A303 at Countess Roundabout.
“Road users are also advised to allow extra time for their journey.”
