The A303 is closed westbound following a dramatic road traffic collision.

Emergency services were called to the major A-road in Amesbury at around 4pm today (Wednesday).

A heavy goods vehicle (HGV) overturned in the smash, with first responders rushing to the scene.

Nobody’s been seriously hurt but the route – on the Amesbury Bypass – will remain closed for some time.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “The A303 is closed westbound from Countess Roundabout to the next junction after a road traffic collision.

“No-one has been seriously injured but the road will be closed for some time while a lorry is recovered.”
