A third person has died following a serious crash involving three Vespa scooters and a car on the A36 near Warminster.

The collision, which happened in Knook at around 10.30am on Friday 31 May involved a red Toyota Prius and three Vespas.

Robert Best, 62, from Bradley Stoke, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 60s, who was riding pillion on another Vespa, died in hospital on Wednesday, 5 June.

Wiltshire Police have now confirmed that a man in his 60s, who was riding the third Vespa, also died from his injuries in hospital on Wednesday evening, 12 June.

His next of kin have been informed and police say their thoughts are with his family.

Investigators continue to appeal for witnesses or dashcam footage that could assist with the ongoing enquiry.

Wiltshire Police previously said that four motorcycles were involved, but have seen corrected the error — confirming that three scooters were involved.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, quoting log number 101 of Friday, 31 May, or email [email protected].
