The A303 is blocked after an air ambulance landed for a road traffic collision.
Emergency services were called to the busy route near Chicklade at around 5pm today (Tuesday).
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed at the scene, with critical care medics tasked to treat at least one casualty.
The road is blocked in both directions at the junction for Fonthill Bishop.
In a statement, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We’re currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the A303 near Fonthill Bishop.
“This is affecting both carriageways. Please avoid the area.”
