A racist thug who knifed his ex-girlfriend’s new partner has been sent to prison.

Kieran Hutchinson pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a knife in a public place and criminal damage.

The 31-year-old, of Abbatt Close, Ludgershall, attended his ex-girlfriend’s home in nearby Taylor Crescent on 25 August 2024 following an argument some time earlier.

At the house, Hutchinson threw a paving slab through the front door, damaging the wall. He went on to assault his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend, a man aged in his 40s, and racially abuse him.

He then ran into the house and gathered multiple knives, which he swung at the victim. The victim suffered injuries to his arm and his hand which required emergency hospital treatment.

A wanted appeal was subsequently released for Hutchinson, who was arrested a few days later and remanded into custody.

At Winchester Crown Court on Friday (17 January), he was jailed for four years and ten months. He must also serve four years on licence on his release from prison.

DS Toni Nugent of South CID said: “Hutchinson went to his ex-partner’s property with the intention of causing serious harm to her partner.

“Following an initial altercation outside the house, he then went inside to find weapons to use against him.

“Hutchinson’s actions were completely unacceptable, and it is fortunate that the victim’s injuries were not significantly worse.

“We take all knife crime incredibly seriously and we will ensure that anybody who perpetrates a crime involving a weapon is arrested and put before the courts.”
