A teenager from Swindon has been charged with drugs and firearms offences.

The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday, 5 March).

The youth faces an allegation of possessing a handgun and a magazine loaded with bullets.

The boy is also charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.

It comes after officers from the Serious Youth Gang Violence Team executed a warrant at an address in Cottington Close, Freshbrook, on 4 March.

A large amount of drugs and a firearm were seized following a search by police dog Bracken.

The teenager has been remanded in a youth detention centre until his next appearance at Swindon Youth Court on 12 March.
