Two boys took kitchen knives out in Corsham on Halloween, according to police.
The youngsters, aged 11 and 12, were sighted with the blades in public on 31 October, sparking serious concerns in the community – mostly from other children.
Local officers were made aware of the incident and both males were interviewed under caution about the serious offence with their parents present.
Both boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, owned up to the offence and accepted they were wrong to possess the knives in the street, but didn’t intend to hurt anyone.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said that parents supported police action and intervention.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “This case will now sit with the youth referral intervention panel.
“This panel sits every 12 weeks and discusses the best way forward to offer intervention and educate young people on the mistake made.
“Carrying knives in Corsham and the surrounding villages will not be tolerated, regardless of your age.”
