A road in Swindon is blocked as emergency services attend the scene of a crash.

The two-vehicle road traffic collision happened in Peglars Way at around 9am this morning (Monday).

It involved a small dark blue Peugeot and a dark grey Peugeot SUV, both of which have sustained front-end damage.

Whilst nobody is believed to have been seriously injured in the impact, the female driver of the small Peugeot requires further assessment in hospital.

A paramedic officer is in attendance and an ambulance has been requested – but 999 crews have to wait until one becomes available. The patient will remain in situ at the wheel until it arrives.

Once the patient has been taken to hospital, the vehicles will be recovered and the road reopened. This is expected to happen within the next two hours.

Two fire engines, an ambulance car and police are on scene.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are responding to a road traffic collision in Swindon involving two vehicles.

“Peglars Way at the junction with Community Street (next to the school) is currently closed aswell as Ludgershall Road towards Redpost Road. Please find alternative routes.”
