Two people have been arrested following a stabbing in Melksham this afternoon (Friday).

Emergency services were called an address off High Street in the vicinity of the Old Stable House in High Street at around 3.15pm after a reported disorder.

Several ambulance service vehicles – including the Wiltshire Air Ambulance rapid response car – were in attendance alongside around six police units.

A woman, aged in her 20s, sustained knife injuries and was taken to Royal United Hospital in Bath for further treatment.

Despite the significant 999 response, her injuries are “not believed to be serious”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed.

Melksham CID are understood to be leading the investigation.
