A man denies installing a secret camera to film a Chippenham family naked.

Allan Ogg, 65, pleaded not guilty to three counts of voyeurism – which relate to the recording of a mother, father and five-year-old child using their bathroom.

It’s alleged the defendant, a pest controller, installed a camera device in the room after being hired by the family to carry out extermination work in the summer of 2022.

Prosecutor Charles Schneider claimed that the family had agreed to the installation of a ‘radar device’ – which they were told would scare away any vermin.

The court heard that one of the complainants “thought it looked a bit strange” and, on a later date, removed it from the wall to inspect it. On spotting a small lens and SD card slot, they removed the SD card and opened the contents on a computer.

It’s said numerous videos of the family naked were found – including the mother showering her child – and the police were contacted.

Mr Schneider said the alleged offences are more serious because they’re said to have been carried out in the complainants’ home, involved planning and involved an abuse of trust.

The magistrates declined jurisdiction over the case. Ogg, of Overbrook Road in Hardwicke, Gloucester, was released on unconditional bail to attend Swindon Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 4 August.
