Group in transit van stealing car batteries in west Wiltshire area

A Wiltshire resident has taken to Facebook to warn others that car batteries are being stolen in and around villages near Chippenham.

In a post on a ‘shout out’ page, Shannon Wilson warned that a number of cars have recently been targeted by a group of people, thought to be of Asian descent.

The group are said to be driving a while transit van.

The incidents are said to have happened in the Burton and Yatton Keynell areas.

Also posting on Facebook, Ad Smith said that he ‘had a load of catalytic converters stolen’ from Porte Marsh Industrial Estate, Calne, last weekend.

Members of the public are advised to contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101 with any information relating to these incidents.
