An investigation is underway after a firework exploded in a woman’s face in Bristol.

The incident happened in Broad Weir, near Castle Park, at around 8.45pm on Friday (21 October).

The firework was thrown, before exploding near a woman’s head and injuring her – as she waited for the bus.

As a result, the victim, in her 20s, suffered hearing loss and required hospital treatment.

It’s believed two males were involved, but Avon and Somerset Police don’t have a description of them at this time.

An investigation is underway, including a review of CCTV from around the area.
