UPDATE: Woman hospitalised after head-on crash on road near Swindon – pictures
A head-on crash has closed a road in both directions road near Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the serious incident on the B4553 Cricklade Road at around 1.30pm this afternoon (Saturday, 15 October).
The road traffic collision, located between Purton and Cricklade, involved a silver car and a black Nissan – with at least two people sustaining injuries.
Two fire crews, several ambulance vehicles and police are attending the scene.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance and a SWIFT Medics critical care doctor are also in attendance.
It’s not yet clear if anybody has been seriously injured in the collision.
The route is expected to remain closed for several hours. An exact timeframe is not known.
