A Wiltshire man has died after being hit by a coach on the A419 in Swindon.

Emergency services attended the incident on the A419 northbound slip-road near the Great Western Hospital at approximately 3pm on 27 August.

58-year-old Phillip Regan from Great Bedwyn – who was on foot at the time – was struck by a coach and was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with life-threatening injuries.

Despite doctors’ best efforts, he died on 6 September.

Today his family have released a touching tribute, describing him as a ‘kind and caring man’.

They said: “Philip was a kind, caring man who had a passion for antiques and acting.

“He was loved by his family and a very well regarded member of his local community. He will be sadly missed.”

Wiltshire Police is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and is urging anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.

Those who can assist should call 101 and quote reference number 54220090700.
