An air ambulance has landed in Chippenham for a serious medical incident.

Emergency services were called to Woodlands Road at around 7.30am this morning (Sunday, 4 September).

Great Western Air Ambulance took a loop of the town between landing on green space before Redland and Brook Street, outside Redland Primary School.

Three ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were also in attendance. There was no visible police presence at the scene.

After being stabilised at the location, the casualty was rushed to the Royal United Hospital in Bath by land ambulance.

Shortly after 9am, the air ambulance helicopter landed at the hospital to collect its critical care crew – who travelled in the ambulance with the patient.

The casualty’s condition is currently unknown.
