Drugs were found when police raided a property in Swindon yesterday (Thursday, 28 July).

Officers, including firearms officers, executed the early-morning drugs warrant in Melksham Close, Penhill – locating items indicative of drug dealing activity.

A number of items were seized from the address, including:

  • Approximately 62 grams of cannabis
  • Approximately five grams of suspected Class A drugs
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Documentation related to drug dealing
  • Electronic devices

An investigation is currently ongoing in relation to possession with the intent to supply.

Local Crime Investigator Lauren Buckingham said: “This was a really good collaboration of a number of departments working together to disrupt drug dealing in Swindon, where an amount of drugs were removed off the streets and out of the community, helping to protect vulnerable drug users.”

Sergeant Annabel Martin said: “The collaborative working between local departments helped achieve a joint aim of delivering a safer community. I urge anybody with any information regarding criminal activity to contact police and feel reassured that we will take action.”
