Armed police officers who entered a house in Swindon after pointing their firearms at a property for over half an hour have been seen removing shotgun.

A number of armed response units attended the address in Pasteur Drive, Old Town, at before 2pm this afternoon, 15 November. They entered the home at around 2.20pm.

A short time after entering the house, a police officer took a shotgun to his car – seemingly seized from the property.

The police helicopter spent some time overhead during the incident.

A man has been arrested and taken to Gablecross Police Station.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.25pm to an incident in Old Town. We have arrested a man on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to commit an offence.

“He is now in custody at Gablecross Police Station.”
