It’s claimed the driver of a truck involved in a serious collision on the A420 left the scene of the incident before police arrived.

At around 7.40am today (15 October), a HGV truck and a black Audi A1 were involved in a crash between Faringdon Business Park and Homeland Garden Machines.

The driver of the Audi sustained a serious leg injury and has been taken to hospital with treatment.

The driver of the HGV made off in a blue van before police arrived and without exchanging details, according to Thames Valley Police.

Investigating officer, PC Alex Norrish, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.

“I’d also urge motorists in the local area around the time of the collision to check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured something that could assist the investigation.

“The driver of the HGV left the scene before officers arrived and I would ask that they also make contact with police.

“Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210464838.”
