UPDATED 8PM: A biker’s been taken to hospital after losing control of his motorcycle in thick fog on the A350 this evening.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle motorcycle collision between Lacock and Beanacre, near Melksham, at shortly before 6pm.

The black motorcycle overturned in the incident, with a male rider suffering a number of injuries. He was treated by Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s critical care medics at the roadside.

A short time later, when an ambulance arrived at the scene, the casualty was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for further treatment.

Wiltshire Police has confirmed that his injuries “are not believed to be serious”.

The road reopened at just before 8pm following two-hour closure in both directions.
