There are huge queues at McDonald’s across Wiltshire as all restaurants reopen today.

In Swindon, traffic backs up down Great Western Way at two branches, while more than 40 vehicles wait in a taped-off section of the Greenbridge Retail Park to avoid roundabout congestion.

McDonald’s has been closed since before the coronavirus lockdown, but some locals desperate for a Big Mac sat at the front of the queue from 10am – one hour before it reopened.

Restaurants in Chippenham, Melksham and Amesbury reopened yesterday, but as of today, every single one in Wiltshire – and across the country – has reopened for business.
