Secondary schoolchild from Wiltshire tests positive for coronavirus

A secondary school child from Wiltshire has tested positive for coronavirus.

The student who goes to Melksham Oak Community School last attended the school on 13 March, the principal confirmed in a letter to parents today.

The school remains open to all year groups except Year 9 and 10 at this stage.

Principal Alan Henderson wrote: “Principal We have been advised that a student at Melksham Oak has been tested positive for Covid19. The student last attended the school on Friday 13th March.

“We have been advised by Public Health England to continue with our preventative control. This includes how we communicate the government guidance and the cleaning schedule for the school.

“Until advised otherwise by the Public Health England the school will remain open for all years except Year 9 and 10.”
