M4 closed both directions due to ‘risk of explosion’ following fire, police say

The M4 has been closed in both directions between junction 17 and 18 due to a fire.

Wiltshire Police confirm that the vehicle, a car, is carrying LPG gas canisters.

The road has been closed for ‘public safety’ due to the ‘risk of explosion’.

The road reopened at after 1pm.
