A road in Swindon has been closed in both directions after a car collided with a bus.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Cricklade Road, near the junction with Beatrice Street, at around 1.30pm this afternoon.

The occupants of the car – a blue Ford Focus – fled the scene on foot, according to two eyewitnesses.

It’s not believed anyone suffered any serious injuries, however, one bus passenger was sat at the roadside awaiting the ambulance service so that they could be checked over.

It is not year clear when the road will reopen.

We’ve approached Wiltshire Police for comment.
