Wiltshire Police have issued a warning ahead of Bonfire Night, reminding people to use fireworks responsibly and avoid behaviour that could put others at risk.
Officers are urging residents to help keep communities safe and enjoyable during the celebrations, warning that violence, disorder and antisocial behaviour can overshadow the occasion.
People attending organised displays or celebrating with family and friends are being encouraged to consider others and ensure fireworks are used safely.
Police have highlighted several laws surrounding fireworks, including that anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited from possessing them in a public place.
Setting off or throwing fireworks in streets or other public places is also an offence.
Officers have powers to stop and search people suspected of carrying fireworks illegally.
There are also restrictions on when fireworks can be used, with a midnight cut-off on Bonfire Night itself.
Retailers have been reminded that they must not sell fireworks or eggs to anyone under the age of 18.
