A Royal Mail lorry has overturned on a busy roundabout in Chippenham, causing disruption during the morning rush hour.
The articulated vehicle overturned at Malmesbury Roundabout, where the A350 meets Malmesbury Road, early this morning (Tuesday).
Wiltshire Police has warned motorists to avoid the area. While the junction remains open, partial closures are in place.
The incident is expected to cause significant delays while recovery teams work to right the lorry and remove it from the carriageway.
It is not yet known what caused the vehicle to overturn, but nobody is thought to have been injured in the incident.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A large Royal Mail articulated lorry has overturned on the A350 at the Malmesbury roundabout, north of Chippenham.
“The road is currently impassable and is likely to remain closed while the incident is dealt with and the vehicle is recovered.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
“Please allow extra time for your journey.”
Drivers are being urged to plan alternative routes while emergency services and recovery operatives deal with the incident.
It comes just weeks after a Royal Mail lorry overturned on the Junction 15 roundabout in Swindon – with eerily similar drone images captured of the scene.
Much like today’s crash, it caused a fuel spill – which will require cleaning before the road can reopen fully.
