A former Royal Navy serviceman from Wiltshire who collected child sexual abuse images has avoided an immediate prison sentence.
Oliver Lonie, of Fairfield Road, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to three offences relating to 53 videos depicting young children being raped and abused.
The offences involved 34 category A videos, which contain the most serious material, alongside 14 category B videos and five category C videos.

The offending took place between 15 June 2020 and 27 April 2023.
The defendant previously worked for the Royal Navy and as an SIA security officer.
Lonie appeared at Salisbury Crown Court on 15 October, where he was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years.
He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for ten years.
Following earlier coverage of his charges, Lonie told Wiltshire 999s that his home had been targeted by outraged locals.
He claimed that windows had been smashed and an abusive slur had been spray-painted on the property, with the incident reported to the police.
It’s understood Lonie has since moved out of the Salisbury area, and now resides in Birmingham with family.
