Armed cops have arrested a pair at gunpoint on a roundabout in Malmesbury.
Officers initially responded to reports that people were spotted carrying weapons in the Chippenham area at around 12.30pm on Tuesday (15 September).
Searches were carried out for the vehicle, and at around 2.50pm it was located on Priory Roundabout – on the A429 Malmesbury.
Firearms officers made to scene in unmarked black Volvos, boxing the red Chevrolet Spark before jumping out with their guns drawn.
The occupants were told to get out of the car and were swiftly detained at the roadside.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affray and stalking involving fear of violence.
Both suspects have been released on bail while the investigation continues.
