A child sex offender from Swindon is being held in custody after he downloaded two apps to his mobile phone without permission from police.

Steven Lach breached a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) by downloading the My MILF [mother I’d like to f***] Dating and Telegram applications.

The 66-year-old, of Bath Road, Old Town, was prohibited from downloading the apps under restrictions imposed by Oxford Crown Court on 30 June 2017.

Lach was given the lifetime order following convictions for more than 30 sexual offences against children. He was arrested on 12 September after police discovered the breaches.

He appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (Monday), where he pleaded guilty to two offences of breaching the order.

The defendant was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Crown Court for sentencing on 16 October.

PC Katie Owers, from the Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders at Wiltshire Police, said: “Lach is a high risk sex offender who continues to show a blatant disregard for the restrictions imposed on him by the courts.

“These measures are in place to protect the public. His persistent offending demonstrates an ongoing risk to others, and we will continue to take action whenever he fails to comply with these conditions.

” I am pleased that the courts have remanded Lach until his sentencing, reflecting the serious nature of the offending.”
