A man has been arrested following a paedophile hunter sting in Swindon.

The 58-year-old was confronted at Claridge’s Pond, a nature reserve in Stratton, by a member of a group that tracks down suspected sex offenders online.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Sunday (23 August), with police alerted.

Officers attended the scene, where the suspect was arrested on suspicion of sexual communications with a child.

It’s alleged the man had been speaking what he believed was a 13-year-old girl online and had requested indecent images from her.

He remains in custody for questioning, Wiltshire Police confirmed.
