A neighbourhood policing inspector has introduced himself to communities across Devizes, Marlborough and Pewsey while outlining his priorities for the months ahead.
Inspector Andrew Lemon has recently joined the Devizes, Marlborough and Pewsey Neighbourhood Policing Team. He is also Wiltshire Police’s Tactical Lead for Rural Crime delivery.
Having served as a police officer for 25 years, Inspector Lemon has worked across several areas of policing, including the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), proactive and volume crime investigation, intelligence and response policing.
Introducing himself to residents, he said: “I’m also the Force Tactical Lead for Rural Crime delivery across Wiltshire Police.
“I have been a police officer for 25 years and worked in many areas of policing, inclusive of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Proactive and Volume Crime Investigation, Intelligence and Response Policing.
“Having recently taken on responsibility for policing this diverse and vibrant area, I wanted to introduce myself and share some of my priorities for the months ahead.”
Inspector Lemon said his focus will be on ensuring communities feel safe and that neighbourhood policing remains visible, accessible and responsive to local concerns.
His priorities include tackling burglary, preventing rural crime affecting farms and the countryside, targeting shoplifting and repeat offenders, addressing anti-social behaviour and disrupting drug-related activity while safeguarding vulnerable people.
He said: “Neighbourhood policing is at its best when we work together. I am keen to listen to your concerns, understand what matters to you and ensure that our policing priorities reflect the needs of the communities we serve.
“Over the coming weeks and months, you’ll see me across Devizes, Marlborough and Pewsey, meeting residents, businesses, community groups and local partners.
