A Melksham woman who drove on drugs while banned has been spared prison.

Chloe Shepard appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court for sentencing on 24 July.

The 36-year-old, of Wessex Close, was at the wheel of a Hyundai Tucson when she was stopped by police on the A3102 Westbrook Road in Bromham last year.

She was arrested after officers established she was a disqualified driver. The defendant was then required to provide samples for drug testing.

At a previous hearing, Shepard pleaded guilty to driving with three seperate drugs in her system – all of which were above the legal limit.

For cocaine, she tested at 32 micrograms of cocaine per litre of blood, against the legal limit of 10 micrograms.

For benzoylecgonine – a breakdown product of cocaine – she was found to have 440 micrograms per litre of blood, where the legal limit is 50 micrograms.

For tetrahydrocannabinol (THC/cannabis), the results showed 6.7 micrograms per litre of blood, above the legal limit of 2 micrograms.

The defendant also admitted driving while disqualified following the traffic stop on 7 September 2025.

Despite facing a potential prison sentence for her offencing, magistrates imposed a 12-month community order in which she must attend 15 rehab activity days.

Shepard was also banned for a further 17 months, fined £120 and told to pay £85 costs.
