A suspected drink driver, who had a child in tow, has been charged after alleged assaults at a Burger King in Wiltshire.
Police responded to reports of an intoxicated man at the wheel of a car at Warminster Services in Bath Road, off the A350 and A36, at around 10pm on Monday (21 July).
Officers attended and located the vehicle – a blue Volkswagen Polo. They discovered a child inside, along with a significant amount of alcohol.
It’s claimed the driver failed to provide a sample of breath and was arrested. He was also arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
The suspect was further arrested for three counts of assault after officers found that an incident had taken place inside Burger King before they arrived.
Michal Korgul , 39, of Wyville Road in Frome, has since been charged with seven offences:
• Using threatening or abusive behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress
• Assault of a woman by beating – namely by spitting in her face
• Common assault of a woman (x2)
• Failed to provide a sample of breath
• Driving whilst disqualified
• Using a motor vehicle without insurance
He is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court this morning (Thursday).
Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses to the alleged assault, or anyone who saw a blue Volkswagen Polo being driven near Warminster Services before 10pm on Monday evening.
