Police in Chippenham are hunting a ‘young woman’ who allegedly mowed down a cyclist – causing serious injuries.
The incident happened near Lidl on Hungerdown Lane at around 3.30pm on 8 May.
Wiltshire Police say a white van stopped prior to the junction on Allington Way, when another vehicle – believed to be a small grey hatchback – turned right into Allington Way.
The car collided with a cyclist, a man aged in his 30s, causing serious injuries described as being “GBH level” by officers investigating the crash.
The driver of the grey car, who believe was a young woman, did not report the incident to police nor did she provide her details at the scene.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident – it is believed there was heavy traffic in the area at the time so it is likely there are witnesses.
