A Swindon paedophile used AI to make sexual images of five children.

48-year-old father Christopher King used artificial intelligence software to turn real youngsters into abhorrent and illegal pornography.

Furthermore, the defendant engaged in sexual communication with one of the victims.

The offences were committed by King, of Mazurek Way, Haydon End, between December 2023 and January 2025.

The offender – who most recently worked as a team leader at the Great Western Integrated Control Centre at Hitachi Rail in Swindon – pleaded guilty to nine offences.

He admitted four counts of making indecent images of children, four counts of making indecent pseudo-photographs of named children using AI technology and one count of engaging in sexual communication with a child.

At Swindon Crown Court on 15 May, Judge Jason Taylor sentenced King to a three-year prison sentence suspended for three years.

In addition, the defendant was ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work and up to 35 days of rehabilitation activity.

King must also pay compensation to victims, including one payment of £4,000 and several payments of £500.

He must register as a sex offender indefinitely, and a Sexual Harm Prevention ORder was imposed to run alongside.

As a result, he is prohibited from unsupervised contact with children under 16 and must observe strict limits on his use of internet-enabled devices.

He must allow police access to his home and digital devices on request, and is prohibited from using software designed to delete data or conceal online activity.

Judge Taylor also banned him from installing or using any artificial intelligence software capable of generating sexualised images or conversations.

He must notify police of any social media accounts and give at least 14 days notice of any travel outside England and Wales.
