A man charged with hacking his mother’s neck with a meat cleaver in an attack at her home near Salisbury can be pictured for the first time.
32-year-old Jake Guyatt appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court this morning (7 May).
The defendant, of Spire View, faces four charges – attempted murder, possession of a bladed article in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a class B drug.

Prosecutors told the court that Guyatt is alleged to have inflicted life-changing injuries on his mother Lynda Guyatt with a meat cleaver, including wounds to her neck and wrists.
She was rushed to hospital for treatment, and has since undergone surgery. She remains in a stable condition.
The incident happened at her home in Firsdown on 5 May, sparking an armed police-led manhunt for the suspect. Two police helicopters were drafted in to help search.
The magistrates remanded Guyatt into custody to next appear at Salisbury Crown Court on 3 June for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
