Police officers patrolling on bicycles have seized an illegal e-bike in Swindon.
PC Thompson, PC Ashman and PC Gutowski have been out and about across parts of the town centre and Parks today (Thursday).
In Midhurst Avenue, off Shaftesbury Avenue, they stopped and seized an electric bike which had been modified and was being used unlawfully.
Wiltshire Police is now reminding riders to ensure their e-bikes comply with UK law.
A legal e-bike must have a motor of no more than 250 watts and must only provide assistance up to 15.5mph.
It must not be modified in any way to increase its speed or power.
Further information on the law surrounding e-bikes is available on the force’s website here.
