A man who allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend’s new partner in Lechlade has been named as the Crown Prosecution Service files charges.
28-year-old Ben Reynolds appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday), where he was remanded in custody.
He faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a shotgun without a certificate.

No pleas were entered and the case was sent to Gloucester Crown Court. The defendant, of Springfield Road, Quenington, will next appear on 24 April for a bail application.
It comes after Matthew Goodall, 30s, was shot with a shotgun while sat in a stationary vehicle in Butler’s Field on Monday evening (20 April).
The victim, who is Reynolds’ ex-girlfriend’s new partner, was rushed to hospital following treatment by Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance medics.

As reported earlier, Gloucestershire Constabulary has referred itself to the police watchdog over ‘prior contact’ with those involved.
A spokesperson said: “The force has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to prior police contact with those involved in the incident.”
